Safripol Durban Proudly Commemorated Global Recycling Day and Water Week: Successful Beach Clean-up

On 20th March 2025, Safripol Durban proudly commemorated Global Recycling Day (18th March), and Water Week (20-26th March), by organizing a successful beach clean-up at Blue Lagoon in Durban.

This well-organized initiative brought together 60 volunteers and like-minded individuals from Safripol, Tri-Ecomvelo, Green Corridors, Durban Solid Waste, and Westville Girls High School, all united by a common goal to remove trash and debris from the shoreline to protect marine life and environment.

The clean-up effort combined community engagement and education to not only clean up the environment but also foster a sense of responsibility for the protection of our oceans and environment.

A heartfelt thank you to all the volunteers and partners who dedicated their time and energy to make this event a resounding success.

Through your hard work and commitment 71 bags of waste was removed from our beautiful shorelines, with valuable recyclables recovered for a second life, and non-recyclable debris removed from landfill.

This achievement was only possible because of the collective efforts of everyone involved – from our dedicated volunteers and community members to our partners and supporting teams.

Your commitment to protecting the environment is truly inspiring. Together, we’ve not only helped create a cleaner shoreline, but also made a lasting, positive impact on our community. Every piece of litter collected is a step toward a healthier planet, and your involvement sends a powerful message of hope and responsibility. Thank you for your passion, your energy and for being part of something that truly matters.

As we reflect on our actions from the day, let us remind ourselves that we are borrowing this beautiful planet from our children, and it is our responsibility to leave it better than we found it.
