In a bold move towards sustainability, Safripol has embarked on a project to collect approximately 90,000 PET bottles during the Sani2C event, contributing to waste reduction within the scenic Underberg community.
This initiative, driven by Safripol as part of the KAP Sani2C effort, has transformed 100,000 recycled PET bottles into eco-friendly pencil cases!
In collaboration with Virobag and local recycling companies, these pencil cases are not just functional items for holding stationery but stand as beacons of innovative sustainability. Crafted from recycled PET Plastic, the journey of each pencil case starts on Unitrans trucks, culminating at a Durban recycling warehouse where they are ingeniously converted into fabric.
The outcome:
Two hundred pencil cases, complete with stationery, were distributed to a local school, empowering each child to contribute to a greener future through their scribbles and sketches.
This initiative not only showcases the transformative power of recycled materials into valuable educational resources but also underscores the strong synergy between innovation and environmental stewardship, inspiring young minds to recycle and use plastic responsibly.
