Safripol Durban
Home to our PET (Polyethylene Terephthalate) resin facility, the Durban plant has a capacity of 240kt per annum. This capacity meets the domestic market’s demand for PET, which leaves the opportunity to actively export into Africa, Europe, Asia and the U.S.A.
PET is used throughout the food, beverages and packaging sectors, and primarily in the bottling industry because of exceptional clarity, like that of glass. This resin is produced from three key chemical raw materials, which are sourced from trusted international suppliers.
The company was originally started by Hoechst AG of Germany and Sentrachem Limited in 1972. Following this, the business was re-branded as Hosaf and was acquired by KAP in 2003.
