What is Responsible Care®?
Responsible Care® is the global chemical industry’s voluntary initiative to ensure that companies operate sustainably, safely, and transparently. It embodies a commitment to improving health, safety, and environmental performance while fostering open communication and building trust with the public.
Since its inception in 1984 in Canada, the Responsible Care® initiative has expanded to more than 60 countries, promoting sustainable chemical production and innovation. In South Africa, CAIA launched Responsible Care® in 1994, uniting the chemical industry under a shared vision of ethical and responsible practices.
