In a bid to proactively restore the Hennops River, Hennops Revival has initiated their Adopt-a-warrior programme, which is focussing on unclogging kerbside storm water inlets in Centurion starting with those storm water drains closest to the Hennops River and are then working their way outwards. This initiative is supported by the Memorandum of Understanding between the City of Tshwane and Hennops Revival. Safripol is proud to come on board as one of the corporate sponsors. Maintenance of storm water drain systems is critical in ensuring water volumes are conveyed away from roads and infrastructure during storm events and channelled into the municipal’s storm water drainage for safe discharge. Far too often storm water drains on our road infrastructure becomes clogged with residential waste, vegetation and debris due to improper waste practices and lack of maintenance, leading to flooding and dangerous conditions on our roads during heavy rainfall events. Last week the Hennops Revival Adopt-a-Warrior team managed to clean 66 storm water inlets and are planning to unclog more drains over the next few weeks.
Thank you, Hennops Revival Adopt-a-Warrior team, for your active citizenship!
