MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • National Diploma in Training and Development or Equivalent. 
  • Certified SDF is an advantage.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE

  • 5+ years in a similar role in a manufacturing environment.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Identifies, together with teams, the training requirements and helps individuals develop their Employee Development plans. Coach individuals on the development plan steps and requirements.
  • Helps teams and individual members to clarify purpose, roles, boundaries, performance outcomes, team norms and operating procedures.
  • Ensures that the training goals are Business and functional aligned.
  • Is knowledgeable about training systems and methods and communicates back to Site Training Steering team.
  • Co-ordinates and schedules the necessary training program.
  • Ensures that all training is documented and updated and complies with the Workplace Skills Plan that is submitted annually to CHIETA.
  • Ensures that the training, training reports and matrixes are up to date.
  • Ensures that training plans are prepared and updated for all employees.
  • Co-ordinates the use of training resources.
  • Participates in setting up the necessary training budget and monitors spending.
  • Ensures that new training requirements are undertaken or developed and are tested.

MINIMUM CRITICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Excellent teamwork and interpersonal relationships.
  • Detailed work process knowledge, with knowledge of operating discipline management systems.
  • Systematic and organized.
  • Computer literate: MS Office, SAP, In-house Digital Tools e.g. electronic document management.
  • Good understanding of Workplace Skills Plan/Annual Training Report.
  • Establishing and maintaining good working relationships with CHIETA and other SETAs as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Trade Tested, Matric with Equivalent Tertiary Qualification

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE

  • Maintenance experience in heavy industry environment.
  • Proven experience in maintenance planning and scheduling using SAP maintenance system    

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare job package and input plan into SAP indicating the required resources, materials, and services.
  • Identify task activities necessary to execute job plan.
  • Identify materials / tools / equipment required to perform tasks.
  • Identify / solicit safety information and requirements necessary to safely perform tasks.
  • Consider material costs when selecting materials from specifications.
  • Reviews work orders for technical completeness and returns work orders if not complete.
  • Carry out field check when needed and archive repetitive job plans. Identify resource requirements for the scheduled jobs using the job plans.
  • Record tasks / information within the work order.
  • Sets net capacity for the crafts based on information about the area turnaround schedule and the related available labor.
  • Build the "week schedule" making the most effective and efficient use of available resource and issuing the schedule.
  • Monitors / reviews performance measures.
